Where risks are identified, steps should be taken to reduce them.
Employers must complete an assessment when a new workstation is set up, a new employee starts to work there, a change is made to an existing workstation or in the way it is used or if employees complain of pain and discomfort. This also applies to those working from home.
Employees should plan their work so they can take regular breaks from their workstation/screen, this will prevent any MSK issues or issues relating to the eyes.
ABEL can provide eyesight testing, DSE and workstation assessments which is a requiem and will also provide employees with advice on posture, regular manoeuvring, and other ways to maintain good mental and physical health.
